NZ & New Plymouth

New Zealand has a population of approximately four million people, the majority of which live on the North Island. New Plymouth is the main city of Taranaki, a province on the west coast of New Zealand’s North Island. It is approximately five hours drive, and 40 minutes by air, from either Auckland or Wellington.

Taranaki is not only one of New Zealand’s strong dairy farming provinces, but also the major energy provider of oil and gas. The whole province is dominated by the magnificent icon of a dormant volcano, Mount Taranaki.

New Plymouth is located on the west coast with a population of around 55,000 people. Its spacious layout and good facilities, all within easy reach, make it very family oriented. It is a safe and friendly city set with a very scenic backdrop, rich in history and culture.

Sacred Heart Girls’ College is one of five high schools within the city boundaries. It has a very high profile in both academic and sporting achievements.
